This pandemic has changed every area of our lives — including fitness and our workouts. So, what can we expect in 2021 when it comes to fitness trends? I recently got a chance to talk to NPR’s All Things Considered about how to better make your fitness resolutions happen in this crazy COVID time, and it’s really made me reflect on just how much has changed in the fitness world since a year ago. Y’all. We made it through 2020! And we have a great way to celebrate: our 2021 Workout Challenge. Like we’ve done in years past (see here and here), we’ve put together a 2021-themed workout using only bodyweight that you can do at home. This year’s workout has a bit of a challenge aspect to it as well: Set a timer for 21 minutes (because, 2021, of course) and see how many rounds you can get through! As always, modify as needed (wall push-ups or push-ups on knees or toes, marching in place or side-stepping for high-impact moves, etc.) and listen…

Well, kids, it’s 2020. And while I know that every new year is technically of equal significance, it’s hard to ignore the weight that a new decade carries — and the emotion that’s attached to leaving the last one behind. If the conversations I’ve had with friends and the introspective posts I’ve seen on social media are any indication, the past decade has been momentous for many of us. Maybe that’s an age thing, maybe it’s a societal shift, but whatever the reason, it feels vast. And it’s led me to do a lot of thinking about the last 10…

With a themed workout! We’ve done this for a few years now (see here for a fun one), but here’s the gist: we take the year and design a really fun full-body, no-equipment-needed workout around it. Since it’s now 2020, you’ll be doing 20 reps of the following 20 moves for one sweat-filled and heart-pumping workout! Grab a mat, some water, a towel,…

Because while wanting to get fit is AMAZING and we’re in full support of it, it makes sense to examine your reasons for wanting to create change. What’s your true motivation? Does it come from a place of lack — or is your desire to push yourself coming from a place of self care/love/discovery? The difference is huge. Read on for seven of the…

Have you guys been reflecting back on 2019? via GIPHY Because we have. The past year has been crazy — yet wonderful — here in a number of ways. We traveled, added two more babies to our collective the Fit Bottomed family, and took our anti-diet and size-inclusive message even further with an IGTV and Facebook Live series and a series of posts and resources on how to break free from diet culture. And in all of that, we’ve had the intention to help all of you to continue to — as our tagline says — not hate yourself healthy.…
